The Broken Chain
Little I knew that morning, God was going to call your name,
in life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
for part of me went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

An Angel Never Dies
Don’t let them say I never lived, though something stopped my heart,
I felt the tenderness you gave, I loved you from the start.
Although my body you can’t hold, it doesn’t mean I’m gone.
This world was worthy, not, of me, God chose that I move on.
I know the pain that drowns your soul, what you are forced to face.
You have my word, I’ll fill your arms, someday we will embrace.
You’ll hear that it was “meant to be, God doesn’t make mistakes”.
But that won’t soften your worst blow, or make your heart not ache.
I’m watching over all you do, another child you’ll bear.
Believe me when I say to you, that I am always there.
There will come a time, I promise you, when you will hold my hand,
Stroke my face and kiss my lips, and then you’ll understand.
Although I’ve never breathed your air, or gazed into your eyes,
That doesn’t mean I never “was” –
An Angel Never Dies…

WHY
Why did it have to happen?
Why did you have to go?
Why did God take you from us?
I don’t think we’ll ever know.
You’ll always be in our memories,
We’ll love you forever and on.
Now you’re watching up above,
With God by your side as one.
We never truly got to say good-bye,
The damage has already been done.
I don’t understand why this happened to you,
What’s the reason for this one.
I hope you never forget us,
I know we’ll never forget you.
We’ll carry you now in our hearts,
And that will always be true.

I'll Send You a Child
I'll send you
for a little time
A child of mine, He said,
For you to love the while he lives
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be forty
or fifty years,
Or even two or three
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him, for me?
He'll bring his
charms to gladden you,
And should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief.
I cannot
promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I've looked
this wide world over
In my search for teacher true.
And form the throngs that crowd life's lanes
I have selected you.
Now, will you
give him all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call
To take him back again.
I fancied that
I heard him say,
'Dear Lord thy will be done.'
For all the joy thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter
him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known
Forever grateful we'll stay.
But should the
angels call for him Much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand.

Parents of A Saint
A little bit of Heaven
Came to both of you one day,
Then soon this little breath of God,
Was suddenly snatched away;
The joy you built within your hearts
Has now turned into grief,
You feel that nothing found in life
Could ever bring relief;
Now, parents, if you'll meditate
You'll find it otherwise,
The grief you have is really
But a Blessing in disguise;
The Waters of Eternal Life
Have Freed your babe of taint
T'was meant by God that you
Should be the Parents of a Saint.

Calling Daddy From Heaven
I'm calling you, Daddy, from Heaven
Because we are apart,
But the phone won't ring on earth today;
In heaven we call heart to heart.
I just want to say, "I love you,"
And I think of you each day.
I hear you say you love me
Each time you kneel to pray.
Sometimes I watch you working
At a job you do se well.
I tell all my friends in Heaven,
"That's my daddy, and ain't he swell!"
I'm working on a project
To send you as a gift,
And when you finally see it,
Your spirits will really lift.
I'm painting lots of colors
All across the sky,
And after rain you'll see them
And know we never die.
I'll also paint some flowers
And send them down to you.
They'll look so fresh and pretty
In the early morning dew.
But best of all, I'll take some notes
Of all the things I love,
So you can read my journals
When you meet me here above.
Your name will cover pages
Of my moments to be shared;
You'll see how much you've meant to me
And how very much I cared.
Then, I'll have story time with Jesus
And he'll tell me stories of you.
I'll listen with a smile
Of all the things you do.
He'll tell me of your kindness
And the smile upon your face,
The way you make the world
A really nicer place.
Of all the things I ever do,
This will the best;
I'll ask the Lord to Bless you,
My very own request.
And tonight when you are resting
From the day you've spent so well,
I'll whisper in your ears
All I have to tell.
And as I hold you through the night,
This is what I'll say,
"I'm proud to call you Daddy
on this special Father's Day."
